The Most Useful Page on the Internet

There is no lack of material on the internet about cancer.  Treatment, effects, causes, cancer centers, useful stuff, scientific stuff, stuff that’s a scam that will do you no good and cost you money.

If you’re being treated for cancer, or are a care giver of one who is, one page stands out above the rest for pure usefulness.  It won’t tell you what treatment to seek, where you should be treated or the likelihood that you’ll be cured, but, as far as practical issues, it’s hard to beat:

It’s a page from the American Cancer Society’s website.  As you can see, you type in a zip code or town and state and it could help you find assistance for a wide variety of issues.  Issues like finding a support group, helping you to quit smoking, getting legal assistance and even help with housing.

All these services aren’t available everywhere, and I don’t know how up to date this list is, but it’s a great start.  If you’re looking for help, give it a try.
